Battery-powered saves or flash memory ?

Hi folks, I hope this question hasn't been asked yet, but as I ordered my Pier Solar copy two days ago and as my Landstalker cartridge's save battery died, I wondered whether Pier Solar had battery-powered saves or if it had these little flash memory unit as in Sonic The Hedgehog 3.

The saves are not battery based, so you will not lose them even after 100 years.

Opening these cartridge, desoldering and resoldering is such a pain in the ass!
