The cave at the beginning of the game, where is it?

Ive been playing for about 2 hours off an on in the past few days and I am stuck. Im supposed to go to a cave to find my dad some plant, but I have no clue where this cave is or how to get there. Ive been through Reja Forest and covered every corner and bush (as far as i know) and checked other areas and spoken to every NPC (to my knowledge) and theres no hint or anything to get there.

There seems to be a blocked path in the reja forest but i cant get past that or I would not know what to used to get past it. This is where I am stuck and needing some assistance on getting past this part to play and enjoy the rest of the game. Help would be great from well... anyone.

In the forest to the north west side.

Ive been to that forest twice and it didnt look like there was another way to go. Which area of that forest has the cave?

Access the forest from the west entrance and wander to your right. You will go across a wooden bridge. Then you wander around a bit and go down and up some short stairs/ramps. Look for what appears to be footprints on the forest ground. It's up a bit near the top right side of the map (not the very edge, mind you). Funny enough, I was never able to find the cave in the demo, but it was pretty easy in the real release despite the location being in the same place.
