This may be an odd question, but is there any way to get the boxes in pdf format to print out for a clamshell?

I ask this because I currently have my US box safely stored in the plastic it came in and keep the game cart in an old clamshell type box. I think it would be cool to print out a cover to put into the clamshell so it will look nice on my shelf next to my other Genesis games.

No, there will not be any pdf to print the box .
But you can put the cardboard box inside your collection, its at least as strong as the sonic&knukles or any SNES game, no reason it would be damaged.

Is there a possibility of a CD-cover printout? I want to keep my CD outside the box in a normal jewelcase, so I'd appreciate a CD-cover for it. For example that part of the manual, where one can see the explanation about how the CD works, what's it compatible with, etc. One could do a nice cover from that, if you guys still have the original files where you designed it all.

I'd even make it myself, just need the .psd file (or whatever it was) of that particular page of the manual and I'd make a cover and post a link here for everyone to download.

Yeah, it's really not hard to duplicate the Sega Genesis and Mega Drive clam shell sleeves. The patterns are really simple. Heck, I made a couple costume jewel case sleeves for a few of my Sega CD games, either because I wanted to protect the original box or because it didn't come with one.

Like I said, the standard design patterns are easy. Getting the official game cover art is the tricky part.

Yeah, its part of the deal, no sources pics or whatever will be distributed. Or else its artwork made on purpose for sharing

You could scan the box sides yourself and stitch them together in an image editing application and print out your own sleeve. I briefly thought about doing this, but then I realized the instructions wouldn't be able to be in the case with the game, so the cardboard box will go on my shelf. It fits perfectly and it is WAY stronger than the Sonic & Knuckles box or any SNES game (much thicker cardboard).

Wow, I had to sign up just to say, PLEASE DO THAT DIY SOUNDTRACK KIT! The idea is brilliant! I just ordered my reprint edition and was gutted that I couldn't get the CD. Stupidly I thought I actually HAD ordered the first print run, but then realised I must never have done it because I couldn't decide on a posterity message D:

I tried to contribute to that site with my own (comissioned) covers for some unlicensed games but they were rejected. The rules clearly state only official, licensed games are allowed.

I have contributed to thecoverproject and while they don't allow homebrew games to be posted on their site, we do share them in the forums frequently. For example I posted my custom cover for Battle Kid and the SNES PowerPak there.

If the reprint didn't already come with a clamshell, I would make one for Pier Solar as well.

I'll make a SegaCD case for my burned copy of the disc, which I'll likely use fan art or whatever else I can find since the hi-def images won't be distributed. Gotta love not catering to the fans.

The thing is, Pier Solar isn't exactly a homebrew game... it may not be licensed but I hate the term "homebrew" when it comes to titles of this quality.

The Cover Project is an awul site. It took them forever to accept my 32X Virtua Racing scan. They are useless.

Also, I wouldn't go making sticky labels for your CD-Rs. While it may look nice, it is not good for the CD. Also, if it is not applied PERFECTLY centered, it can throw the disc off balance as it spins making it harder to read.
