The Easter Egg Thread

Postby Oldskool on Sat Jan 08, 2011 5:35 am

Ok, so I've heard of all of these secret things in the game that you can unlock and find. Stuff like hidden mini games, things that happen when you plug the game into a 32X, special bonuses on the soundtrack CD, etc. etc. Are there any discoverd secret codes yet?

What all has been found? I'm interested in knowing (without spoiling too much about the storyline).

I found 2 hidden paths inside the temple of the ruined town, but they dont seem to lead anywhere. I even tried the opening spell to see if there was any chest, but it didn't target anything.

I'm also wondering what to do about the letter to lena and the ring (of that camp guy), the Tavernists told me they were the only ones in town...

On point zero theres a collision glitch, I beleive. IIRC before the room with the mossae (I think its her name :P) theres a small corridor with pillars that has a non solid wall in one place, it lets you walk in the void.

I wonder what happened if I didn't call the guards when the bounty hunter held the party in the headquarters(maybe it was Zellini?), but the vaccine was a nice acessory.

Next time Ill try to grind so much, Ill kill ironheart on the first time we meet.. «- Is this even possible or is he invulnerable? :P

The manual says its possible to push some objects but I dont know how to do that O.o (besides the magic school riddle)

Also, 68000 Manual prevents from sleep, May the gather be with you, those jokes about the SNES :P

I havent tried the 32x yet, but I suspect it helps on the "world view".

That is all I have for now

Thats a good idea.

First of all, there is a easter egg hidden inside the packaging.
Where the extras are in, there is a additional sheet of cardboard attached to the box. And there is a picture printed on it. However the picture is facing the back of the box and i cant figure out a way to get a good look on it without damaging the box or the cardboard sheet.

That's a very good find. I hope you'll join the beta testing team of our next game :).

You know, I've been joking on and off about a certain famous code being done on the title screen, and it appears that it does indeed do something.

The code that you found has nothing to do with giving you money. It's a sound test. After you enter it, press left and right on the D-pad, and you'll hear a variety of sounds from the game.

In Verahansha, at the very bottom of the docks, there is a guy running around some big crates and mumbling something about "the boxes are all here and the manuals are in them. But where are the cartridges?!" He also complains that he hates to find lose games, it's like "seeing orphan children".

Also the easter egg that everyone should have noticed (at least if you've managed to finish Pine Forest) is the reference to Hedgehogs being super fast : P

Speaking of loose cartridges, I found 2:
One in the old route caves, PS-IV;
Other in a house, in the jungle island where mossae takes you to get a crystal, Alien Soldier;

Also in the meteomobile list theres a place underwater called Urg, some weird dungeon with an infinite starcase (or not?) and a bunch of chests (the title screen music plays in here, which was kind of wierd). It also has a suspicious plateau with nothing in there, much like the trench has one near the teleporter O.o

I allready started a thread about them. If you find any more, please post them there. They actualy enable mini games.

Damn, one thing i missed.
Another easy to miss dungeon is the ice cave. It's in the basement of that big castle with the old architect and his dragon in it. The entry is in the room with the penguin. But the entry only appears late in the game, it's not there the first time you are in this castle. Some cool stuff to find there.

I don't remember where in the game, but at some point when you talk to a guy, he tells you the following joke: "what's in common between newspapers and SNES cartridges? Both turn yellow over time"

I already wandered inside that ice cave, but the party was worn from battles, so I didnt explore much, I guess Ill retrun later.

This is my list of stuff to do:

Wander around the world talking to people, revisit some dungeons, hopefully finish the letter to lena's and the ring :?:
Explore the cellar;
Explore that cave of darkness;
Get items from the sultan's storage (have 5 master keys), or maybe draw a diagram with contents and choose :mrgreen:;
Try to figure out the temple invisible paths; these are a bit suspicious, they don't seem to have any purpose
Explore Meho, and the northern continent around the lake;
Proceed to cliboe :P

___

Barman, that was a joke on the sultan palace :lol:

You talk to him, the guard will step out of the door letting you inside, and also gives you 2 keys.

IIRC there are 8 locked chests, each one wastes 1 master key. Thats why Im thinking of doing a diagram of the goodies «- I hope this isn't random 8)
