Questions about ordering the game.

thanks...

Postby MLowther on Sun Jan 02, 2011 4:08 pm

Turns out my copy arrived yesterday, only downside is it was sent to my old address after i updated it about 6 weeks ago :(

*sigh*

That's bad news on my half since the people who live there now hate me and i doubt I'll ever see that copy =/

Can i ask if this is covered by the warranty copies, or will i have to buy a rerun copy, i was really looking forward to this game, one of my most anticipated games since i learnt about it roughly a year and a half ago ^_^

last note, i ordered the japanese copy if that makes any difference :P

The game is delivered to you upon signature. It can't be delivered to somebody else or else the post office made a big mistake. We do not cover such issues.

I suggest you check with post office asap what you can do given the fact your item is unique and you cannot buy it anymore.

Good luck.

There is such thing as postal fraud in the US, and the USPS takes it VERY seriously. I suggest you confront these people and ask that they give you your game, and if they don't, report them. They can't keep YOUR mail. That is a federal crime.

In fact, I wonder if Fonzie and the gang (*snicker*) would be so kind as to provide you with any additional documentation to prove that it's your game. It is uniquely numbered, after all.

how would i see about getting it delivered to my address, it's not like the royal mail ask for ID or anything when someone signs for it.

and i was called up about it arriving there, so hopefully they send it instead of throwing it out or something >_<
I'm probably just over thinking it and everything will be fine but I don't want this to get lost somewhere since odds are I'll never be able to get another original run copy :P

and may i ask why the address updater didn't work? it said that it updated when i did it :s

and thanks, i didn't actually know that, if i need any additional details like that i will post here again, it's just reassuring to know i can do something ^_^
i don't know what it's like in the UK but I'm guessing it's somewhat similar to the US system...

Uh oh... I moved too... I did update the address via the updater and I did ask Fonzie who confirmed it was sent to the correct address though... here's hoping!

i didn't ask if it was sent to the correct address, i may have not have done it right though.
i put in all the info required and hit the confirm button, don't know if i was supposed to do something else but it looked completed to me.

It´s the post service´s fault if they do NOT ask for ID, especially with there being a different name on the door now. That´s the service that was paid for by us.

So you better call the people now living in your old place and inquire about the game and ask for an appointment for you to collect it or you ask them to send it to your new adress.

my main worry was because this is the Royal Mail we're talking about, when i used to have a flat with a friend, he ordered something and i was able to sign for it (signing with my name not his) and they didn't mind. (I've had several experiences like this, the royal mail never seem to ask for ID, they only care about getting it to the delivery address)
plus houses in the UK don't usually have names on them, just a house number.

but as stated I'm going to try and get it sorted out and hopefully i get this.
my main worry was because half of my order from Game a couple of months ago was sent to my old address and the other half was sent to my current address, which ended with me losing my copy of GT5 + the money i paid for it.

got something sorted out, I'm heading over to my old address to pick it up and then go and pick up my mega drive and some other stuff from a relatives house on friday as long as it's not snowing :)

last question: when i updated my address, i put in all my new info, hit the button and it looked like it simply refreshed the page, was that supposed to happen or was there supposed to have been some sort of confirmation?

thanks, and hopefully I'll be playing the game in a few days.

ok, so apparently they were bull****ing me when they said it arrived there and they're saying nothing came for me.
can i still have it checked what address it was sent to?
gonna try and find out what my order number was, can't remember where i put it.

thanks :)

edit- my order number was 1423, could anyone please PM me where it was shipped to?

i feel like a complete ass now, jumping to conclusions is never a good thing.
however, thank you fonzie, the game is being sent to the correct address, and i now have my megadrive so i can enjoy the game the moment it arrives in the mail :D

still not sure why i was told it had arrived at my old address but i am now relieved and looking forward to this arriving even more than i was :P
looks like all those games i bought on steam over the holidays can be put on hold as soon as this arrives.
