Strategy Guide?

I'am trying to build a map, but its not so easy way to combine ingame screenshots as there is no software for exactly this problem. And it's not very funny to combine the pictures by hand.

So have you actually captured screens from the game? This seems like the most difficult part to me. Combining them would be quite easy, as long you don't want to include in-depth maps of every location.

I am trying with pictures from Reja but there is no program out there which could align it correct. And its not trivial to write a own stitching program as the upscaling of the tv card is not optimal.

The simplest method to complete this kind of work is to use a program like photoshop. Once the files (pictures) are on your computer, you just combine/resize/crop them with the program to reate a single image.

Yea, but its an awefull lot of work to combine them manually. The first town has around 30 images. Only outside, the other locations are much bigger… but i could give you the images. Orginal and precoropped and resized to 640 pixel width.
One more problem is to filter out the Characters or paint something simmilar to the background over them.

Xaratas, I think you are going way too far. If you want to write an in-depth walkthrough this is the sort of work one needs to go through, but this is only a STRATEGY guide, it's supposed to give some hints, not to show where each and every hidden item or shop is on a full map.

I'd suggest to combine only the map screens, where you can choose between different locations and let the readers figure out the rest by themselves.

Do not use photoshop, use Gimp. "Finding" photoshop sounds pretty illegal and Gimp is basically the same thing, save for some very advanced features you really don't need for a simple task like combining pictures.

Finding it is very easy too, here is the English installer. Here is the site with all other languages and the help files.

You're right, gimp is enough for completing this task. I tried it once, it's not too bad for a free software.
